deviantART and Fotolia partner new Stock Project

From http://stockproject.fotolia.com:
“Welcome to the deviantART Stock Project on Fotolia.
As we build out and develop a fully integrated commercial stock offering on deviantART, Fotolia is providing deviants with immediate access to a huge catalog of commercial stock under standard licenses with transparent terms and at great prices.”
It seems deviantART is widening to include stock photography.

I see deviantart as the “myspace” of creative social networks. Behance is probably closer to the “facebook”. There’s enough Anime to choke a cow on DeviantArt. Overall the site is seems like it’s pretty much contributed to by a bunch of grade school kids and hobbyists. There are also a lot of talented people and really cool imagery on DA, though – as well. I just feel bad for the image inspectors or photo reviewers that have to go through the submissions from that place
Will it wet the appetite for DA artists to join the rest of the microstock sites? Or maybe they might cut out the middle man and try and submit to fotolia directly? Only time will tell.
Tell me what you're thinking...
