To keep the discussion on this forum helpful and enjoyable, we have put in place some rules and guidelines that need to be followed.

This forum is for everyone interested and should welcome new feedback.  It's ok to disagree, but be professional and respectful.  If the forum rules are not followed, you may be warned or banned completely.

Here are some rules to follow when posting to this forum:

  • You can disagree or ignore posts you do not believe in, but name calling and extreme language will not be tolerated.
  • If you came here to make people feel unwelcome in stock photography, or to just complain about competition, you are in the wrong place.  There are many other photography forums where you can bash newbies and explain how the photography industry is coming to an end.  Acting that way here will eventually get you banned.  Everyone is welcome here, new or old, hobbyist or pro, as long as you can act professional.
  • You may not place referral links in posts or signatures.  This forum is for discussion, not spam.  All referral links on this site will be from the site owner only.  You can link to your website in your profile, and your website can have your referral links; but please do not post them directly in the forum.  All advertising on this forum is maintained by the site owner.  Spam will not be tolerated.
  • Please keep your profile signature professional and clean.  Obnoxious signatures will be edited or removed.  This is for the benefit of all members.  Currently links and images are not permitted in user signatures.
  • Before starting a new topic/thread, please search for your information to keep from posting the same information over and over again.  If there is already a topic about it, post there please.
  • When starting a new topic/thread, please make the subject as descriptive as you can while keeping it short and to the point.  This helps bring in discussion from others that are interested without wasting time for people who are not.

If you feel there are other rules or guidelines that should be added, feel free to reply to this post and the admin will consider your feedback.  This list may be updated at any time, so please review this topic often to keep updated on the rules.

Here are some basic questions answered that you should know before you start posting in the forums:

  • To cut down on forum bots, you must have at least one post before many features of your account will be enabled.  Notably, you will not be able to start a new topic, edit much of your account, or set advanced options until you have made your first post.  If you are new and would like to join in, why not start off your account by posting in the "New to the forum? Come on in and introduce yourself." thread?  You earn your first post and introduce yourself at the same time.
  • After you have made your first post, you will move from "Newbie" status to "New Member" status.  As a "New Member" you can add posts and create new threads, but you will not be able to add links in any post until you reach "Jr. Member" status.  You reach "Jr. Member" status after you make 20 valid posts.  Once "Jr. Member" status is reached, your account becomes fully enabled.  I know this sounds restrictive, but it is needed to fight against spam bots.  I have better things to do than deal with spam all day.  I hope you understand.

If you are having technical issues with the forum, please see this thread.

Thank you all for joining the discussion and keeping this forum helpful and enjoyable for everyone.
